Raya Disney Movies

There’s nothing that puts a damper on catching up on a good movie quite like house hunting. There aren’t too many days in this market where you have a free moment to enjoy a handful of movies. Since the list hasn’t been updated since March, here’s a rundown of everything watched since, six in total:

Mortkal Kombat

If ever there was a movie that needed a reboot, it was Mortal Kombat. The beloved video game franchise that got no respect on the big screen. A series of terrible movie adaptations and here we are. The reboot was something that still didn’t quite get me too excited. While there was some good fighting, it had the same problem every movie about fighting does, acting. Some characters were good, some were awful. To be fair it’s not as bad as the originals and is worth watching, but it’s still not fantastic.

Eurovision

Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams in a movie sounds like the kind of movie you’d enjoy despite the odd pairing. After all, Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are an odd pairing and The Other Guys was hysterical. Game Night with McAdams and Jason Bateman was funnier than expected. The duo had an opportunity to hit a home run. To put this one into perspective, did you like Blades of Glory? It’s worse than that. Do with that what you will.

More Movies: 100 Movie Challenge – March 2021

Army of the Dead

Army of the Dead was one of those movies you wanted to love, but you also wanted to hate. Army of the Dead was good in the sense that it wasn’t your typical zombie movie. On the other hand, it had many chances to wow and seemed to come up short at times. It missed its mark on intense moments but had some well-thought-out scenes. If you like a good zombie flick at least you can cross this one off your list.

Mitchells Vs the Machines

MvM is a good family-friendly film to sit down with the kiddos and enjoy. Every now and then it’s good to just put down the heavy movies and just unwind with a casual kid-friendly comedy. Mitchells vs the Machines is very reminiscent of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs with some good, clean humor.

Bo Burnham: Inside

After taking five years off from comedy, Bo Burnham is back with a new special for Netflix. Shot entirely at his house, by him, with no crew it still manages to be a spectacular comedy special. There’s a ton of deep humor that is thought-provoking and still funny. More often than not you find truth in some of his jokes. It’s chaotic, it’s wild, and it’s your typical Bo Burnham. Easily one of the best feature-length presentations I’ve watched in this bunch.

Raya and the Last Dragon

Raya and the Last Dragon was the movie I was looking most forward to. While it didn’t disappoint, I expected better out of the latest Disney release. Aside from the bit of on-the-nose propaganda they briefly pushed, this movie had heart and energy that will be enough to keep the kids attention. It won’t climb the ladder on your favorite Disney movies, but its another one to check of the list.
