5 NFL Teams Whose Fans Should Panic After Week 2
Week 2 in the NFL is in the books. Now that we’re starting to see consistency or lack t, here are the top 5 teams from week 2 whose fans should be in panic mode:
Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals are already down on season 0-2 but that’s not the worst of it. The Bengals invested the first overall pick in Joe Burrow, a pick that should have put them in a good position to succeed in the NFL. While expectations are high, you would think that the Bengals should be able to put a team like the Cleveland Browns away.
True, this is the NFL and any team can win on any given week but the Bengals got rocked. Joe Burrow can’t be the savior if the defense allows 35 points against an often struggling team.
Atlanta Falcons
Sunday’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys had to feel awfully familiar. After they blew the 28-3 lead over the Patriots in the Super Bowl and now this, one has to wonder if Atlanta will ever get the job done in big games. It’s only week 2, but Atlanta was in full control of this game only to blow it in the end.
Matt Ryan has to be the guy to put teams away or they’ll never win their Championship. If teams watch tapes on how the Cowboys came back against Atlanta, it won’t look pretty down the stretch.
San Francisco 49ers
Injuries hit the NFL pretty hard every year, but the 49ers got hit pretty bad. While each injury might not be that bad but to lose Jimmy Garropolo, Raheem Mostert, Nick Bosa, Solomon Thomas, and Tevin Coleman in one game is cause for concern.
George Kittle, Dee Ford, and Richard Sherman are already sidelined so this season could get very ugly. Even if they hold off any more injuries they’ll have to tread water until they can get playmakers back. By then it might be too late.
Minnesota Vikings
Remember when Kirk Cousins was given a fully guaranteed contract? It was supposed to get the Vikings over the hump. Maybe losing Stefan Diggs was an issue but Kirk Cousins doesn’t look like much of a winner after Sunday. Against the Colts, Cousins threw barely over 100 yards and 3 interceptions.
The Vikings were looking like competitors in 2019 finishing 10-6 on the season, but are starting 2020 0-2.
Los Angeles Chargers
LA is only on the list for obvious reasons. After Tyrod Taylor went down with an injury, the rookie Justin Herbert came in and instantly created a QB controversy. Taylor hasn’t done much to lose the job, but in today’s NFL, you have to do what will help improve your chances of winning. If Herbert can hang with a tough Chiefs team they might as well let him roll with the punches.
