5 Shows to Watch Instead of The Office … Again
Everyone seems to love The Office and with good reason. The characters are likable, fully relatable, and at times display humor we rarely get to see on television. But soon it will be gone from Netflix, leaving an empty hole for people who don’t want to add yet another streaming service to their already full deck. So what should you be looking for when The Office does finally leave.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Hulu)
Trading a quirky workplace comedy for another should make it an easy transition. B99 is one of the funniest shows on television if you’re into goofy humor. Much like The Office, it has a huge ensemble cast with brilliant timing on their jokes. Their cold opens easily rival their predecessor. Another wonderful cast of likable/relatable characters and actors.
Baby Daddy (Hulu)
Though it is off the air, this delightful comedy took audiences back to the days of T.G.I.F on ABC. Airing on Freeform, imagine Baby Daddy as Three Men And A Baby but made for tv. After a one-night stand, Ben Wheeler has a surprise waiting on his front doorstep, his daughter. While it only last 5 seasons, Baby Daddy was the wholesome family comedy that every age bracket can enjoy.

Central Park (Apple Tv+)
If you’re one of the people who got a year’s free Apple TV+ for buying an Apple product, you’re in luck. There’s plenty of great programming on the channel already, but their animated comedy Central Park is a standout for the young streaming service. Much of the show is a musical, which is hard to imagine in a cartoon. Somehow, they manage to pull it off. From the makers of Bob’s Burgers, this one has all the similar comedy stylings with a kick of flare.
Fresh Off the Boat (Hulu)
Every generation needs a comedy to reflect on the decade they grew up and the ‘90s are no exception. Fresh Off the Boat takes the Wong family straight out of the ‘90s and gives them all the comedy exploits that came along with the end of the millennium. It might not be too close to The Office in terms of a workplace comedy, but if you’re looking for a show to remind you how goofy your youth was at times, start with Fresh Off the Boat.
Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet (Apple Tv+)
Another workplace comedy that’s still early in the series is Apple TV+’s Mythic Quest: Ravens Banquet. While the show more closely mirrors HBO’s Silicon Valley than The Office, it’s yet another show with an ensemble that’s a little something for everyone. Centered around a video game developer and the company he works for, you’d think it wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea. But to be fair, how many people can relate to the day to day happenings of a paper company?
Yes, Netflix has been left off of the list. Mostly because their comedy typically relies on Network television to stay afloat. No offense to The Ranch or The Big Show Show, but they’ve still got a long way to go when it comes to comedy.
