Should the Six Flags parks follow Cedar Fair’s lead and do a Looney Tunes Celebration?

Knotts Berry Farm and Kings Island are the two Cedar Fair parks to incorporate their star license (Peanuts) into a huge event. Six Flags, who have the rights to Looney Tunes, have the ability to do a concept like this at their parks across North America. Why haven’t they pulled the trigger on this idea?

Peanuts Celebration (which is currently going on at Knotts Berry Farm) is an event meant to showcase Cedar Fair’s lovable Peanuts gang. The event features shows, exclusive meet and greet’s, special food items, and activities. It was hit at both Knotts and Kings Island. Why not try your luck with your license, Six Flags?

Looney Tunes is a classic franchise. A lot of young kids know the characters. Seeing as this is the market you’re aiming to attract, it’s really a no-brainer. Six Flags can add so many different attractions to a Looney Tunes Celebration. There’s an opportunity for big money to be made.

One of the things you can have at Looney Tunes Festival is an exclusive party at the family section of the each respective park.
Cedar Fair does this at their events. Usually it’s an hour before the park opens, passholder’s get in to experience food, drinks, and games with the Peanuts gang.

Peanuts Celebration at Knotts and Kings Island has a few different exclusive food items. One of which is the Peppermint Patty Funnel Cake. There are also an assortment of brownies and cookies themed to Peanuts. Most notably is the Charlie Brown Brownie. In addition to food, the opportunity for exclusive photo-op’s and meet and greet exists as well.

Cedar Fair has displays set up around the park with Peanuts images. They make for great pictures, making you like you’re in a Peanuts comic. In addition, they’ve sent PigPen (the newest Cedar Fair character) to his own meet and greet. Six Flags should use an exclusive character that’s never seen. Roadrunner comes to mind as a potential option.

There are endless possibilities for the Looney Tunes Celebration. Six Flags can surely come up with something for its parks. Who knows when or if they’ll decide to do and event like this. It’ll make them massive amounts of money. Why can’t they follow the lead of their rival?
