AEW: Five Superstars Who Should Challenge Jon Moxley for the Title

At Revolution, Jon Moxley dethroned Chris Jericho to become the new AEW champion. He was able to end the reign that has lasted since All Out. Now that we have a new champion, you can now bet we will see new people lining up for a shot at the title. I’ve decided to come up with a list of five superstars who we might or could see step up to the new AEW champion.

Darby Allin

AEW Dynamite has been on air since October of last year. One of the things that AEW has done well on in building up wrestlers who are going to be apart of the future. One of the wrestlers who has benefited from this is Darby Allin. A lot of people see Allin as like the modern-day Jeff Hardy. Allin is someone who the AEW crowd has gotten behind a lot. A title match between him and Moxley would be a great main event.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF)

Like Allin, MJF is poised as one of the key parts to the future. From the moment he appeared at Double or Nothing last year in Vegas, people were booing him. In the early days of AEW, he was a face as he was aligned with Cody Rhodes. Fast forward to Full Gear, MJF cost Cody the title. Now Cody isn’t allowed to challenge for the AEW title. As we saw on the latest episode of AEW, it seems that MJF has already set his sights on Moxley and the AEW title.

Sammy Guevara

After Full Gear, we have seen the Inner Circle feud with Jon Moxley. As we have mentioned with the previous two people, Sammy is also someone who is being posied for a bright future in AEW. You can continue the Inner Circle/Jon Moxley feud. Plus I could see Sammy as the top of the food chain.

Cody Rhodes

I know that he isn’t allowed to go after the AEW title after he lost to Jericho. However, there is something in me that thinks that stipulation gets waived. Moxley even said after Revolution that he would like to face Cody Rhodes. In addition, we have seen Cody tell great stories with Nick Aldis, Dustin Rhodes, Shawn Spears, Jericho, and now MJF.

Lance Archer

This one is a total guess. We are probably going to be seeing him in the next couple of weeks. If he is the client that Jake the Snake Roberts was talking about, it could be sooner rather than later. After he would be done with Cody, Archer does have unfinished business with Moxley.

Who do you see challenging Moxley for the title going further?
