AEW: Is it too much to ask for an MJF/Jericho feud ?
We are still a few months away from AEW coming to TV. With the star studded roster, fans have been saying the feuds they would love to see. Some of them mentioned were Moxley vs. Havoc, Rae vs. Baker, Young Bucks vs. Lucha Brothers, SCU vs. anyone, and so on. However, there is one that is brought up a lot. If Cody, the Young Bucks, and Tony Khan pull the trigger, this could have money all over it.
The “money” feud would be MJF taking on Chris Jericho. For starters, there doesn’t need to be a belt for this feud. Both MJF and Chris Jericho are two of the most over stars and don’t need a belt. Second off, the promos would simply write themselves. If you talk to any wrestler, they all will say the same thing. A good promo will always bring people into the arena. In addition, a good promo will get fans invested into the match. Most importantly, this would be a true passing of the torch.
As we saw at Double or Nothing and throughout MJF’s career, he has had a common saying. He keeps saying how he is the fastest up and coming superstar in wrestling. He is certainly going up the ranks, but if he were able to defeat Chris Jericho, it would do nothing but help him. AEW will do a major thing different than the WWE. Cody, The Young Bucks, and Khans will book the future talents right off the back.
I would book this feud to begin right after All Out. Over the next couple of weeks, I’d have them go after it on a Twitter spat. Then when the weekly TV show begins, I’d go right out of the gate. My payoff would be MJF to go over on him to make MJF more of a heel.
