AEW: What should be the main event of Revolution?

At the end of this month, AEW will be holding its first pay-per-view of the new decade with Revolution. As of this writing, we know that Jericho is defending the AEW title against Jon Moxley. We should know the other matches in the next couple of weeks. It seems that fans are trying to figure out which match will close out of the show.

You have some people who think it should be Moxley and Jericho because it’s for the AEW title. You are now having other people who want it to be MJF and Cody Rhodes. This started after MJF gave Cody 10 lashes on TV this past Wednesday. While fans are emotionally invested in the AEW title match, fans are more emotionally invested in the MJF/Cody match. The reasoning why fans are more emotionally invested in the MJF/Cody match than the Jericho/Moxley match is that Cody and MJF have told a great story so far. After Cody lost to Jericho at Full Gear, we saw MJF turn on Cody and become AEW’s top heel. I would equate the story that MJF and Cody are telling to that of Tomaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano of NXT.

The only difference between the two feuds was everyone saw MJF turning heel from a mile away. However, both feuds are telling an excellent story of betrayal. I know you are going to have your wrestling purists who feel that the title should close out a show. While that is the case in most promotions, it is not always the case. As we saw at some of the last NXT Takeover events, not every main event is for a title.

You want the fans to be invested and the Cody/MJF feud will be the most investment we will see from the fans. Tune in to AEW Dynamite as we continue to see the way the card plays out.
