AFC East: Is The Division Still Up For Grabs?
The AFC East has always been one of the more unpredictable divisions in the NFL. When it comes to bad, they’ve been really bad. Now it seems, despite each team’s hopes, no one is willing to go back to being bad. The Bills have led the division for the past few seasons. Miami has been hot on their tails. The Jets always look like they’re one piece away. Last but not least, the Patriots just won’t roll over and die. With all of that considered, is the division still up for grabs?
Buffalo Bills:
Buffalo has played each of the AFC East rivals at least once, the only problem is, that’s also the number of victories they’ve walked away with. It’s easy to say that in week 1 the Bills lost against the Jets knocking off the dust of the offseason. However, they look easily catchable and passable in the race for the division. Bill Belichick and the Patriots seemed to have the answer for everything that was thrown at them. The Pats made a statement against the Bills after not scoring 20 points in the first 6 weeks, putting up 29 against their division rivals.
Miami Dolphins:
Is it true? Can the Miami Dolphins only beat bad teams? Despite them leading the division with a 5-2 record, will the rest of the AFC East catch up with a tough schedule ahead? Miami has the shiniest toys but has been bitten by the injury bug. They’re getting some help back over the next couple of weeks but their opponents won’t get any easier. If Miami wants to stay at the top, it’s time for some backups to step up into bigger roles.

New York Jets:
Everyone was claiming the Jets season was over once they lost Aaron Rodgers to start the year. Shockingly enough, Zach Wilson has kept them afloat with a 3-3 record. Rodgers seems to think he’ll be back sooner rather than later. They’ve got plenty of talent around him. If he plays smart enough and Rodgers can rush back without any setbacks, don’t count the Jets out just yet. No team has shown they’re that far in front of the pack. Could the Jets be a sleeper team this year?
New England Patriots
Despite having one of the worst offenses in football, you can never count out a Belichick-led team. Making the Buffalo Bills look bad their last game wasn’t on anyone’s Bingo card for this week, yet here we are. The Patriots did to the Bills what the Bills did to Miami. The AFC East is one of the most competitive divisions as of late and there’s no reason to ever count out the Pats. They might be in the basement right now but if this last game was a sign of things to come, I’d be worried if I were the rest of the division.
