From her first appearance on All American, Simone Hicks has been a character with no real direction. Even with her own show, All American: Homecoming, nothing has changed that much. For some reason, the writers have decided she will remain in limbo when it comes to important decisions regarding her life.

With Simone and Damon heating back up, viewers are at the point of “here we go again.” We’ve seen this early on with Jordan then with Damon, then with Jordan again, then back to Damon, and with Orlando, and now back to Damon. When does this cycle end?

She began her run lying to Jordan regarding the father of her child. She led Jordan and everyone to believe he was the dad and they even went as far as getting married. The marriage would be annulled but their relationship remained. When Simone was choosing colleges, the group took a weekend trip to Bringston University where she bumped into Damon Sims and you could tell there was chemistry.

With the news that she would be getting her own spinoff, there was little debate as to who the love interest would be. But there was still a slight problem, she was at the time of the pre-spinoff still married to Jordan.

She and Jordan would try a long-distance relationship but that didn’t work out. As time would grow, so would the feelings for Damon. It never became official, but both Damon and Simone agreed to stop the romantic side of things and focus on their friendship. Damon went on to date Thea while Simone watched with a heavy heart.

The Simone Love Triangle On All American Homecoming

In time, she would start dating Damon’s rival and teammate, Orlando and here we are now with Simone right back where she began her All American journey, trapped in a web of lies and deception.

Even with Damon and Thea breaking up, it appeared as if Simone Hicks finally grew up and was determined to find her own path. But no, we’re right back to the drawing board after they shared a kiss and then agreed to be friends. But now, Damon is stuck in his feelings, again.

With Damon not knowing about the relationship between Simone and Orlando, he decides to tell Simone he loves her. Right there was her moment to let Damon know where she stands but Simone couldn’t do it.

Simone Hicks is back to leading these men on and everyone just seems to accept that. There is nothing cute, sexy, or noble about what she’s doing. She knows she is in the wrong but the truth of the matter is, this has been her MO from the start.

I have no idea why the writers keep trying to push these two together. They just don’t mix. Thea is a better fit for Damon and Orlando is a better fit for Simone and yet, we’re in their weird love square again, especially after Thea and Simone made somewhat of a truce and the same goes for Damon and Orlando.

I’ve been to college and I understand just how hard relationships can be but we also knew to stay away from the issues that were very avoidable.

Yes, some blame can be placed on Damon’s doorstep as he’s just as lost as Simone Hicks is. Now, due to her pledging, she has thrown Orlando into the mix with his sister thinking they are a couple. But what happens when she finds out that Simone has these feelings for Damon and is just stringing her brother along for the ride?

There is a way to clean all this up and that is having Simone be honest with everyone. If she tells Orlando, that will put a wedge between the two teammates. If she tells Damon about Orlando right now, that will also cause trouble. Simone had her chance to come clean but not being upfront will come back to haunt not just her but everyone involved.
