All American: Jordan Already Has “His Guy”

All American

No matter what happens this season or any upcoming for All-American, the bond between Spencer James and Jordan Baker is real. With GAU facing backlash from coach Garrett’s decisions, the football program is in trouble. And with the program in flux, that means tough decisions must be made. Spencer is deciding to ride it out while Jordan is on his way out the door.

At first, it sorta felt like a slap in the face as his sister and dad are the ones who birthed this media nightmare and he informed Spencer he was in it for the long haul. But then the recruiters came calling and Jordan had a change of heart. But it wasn’t until his verbal showdown with Spencer that his decision began to make some sense. Jordan is looking for “his guy.”

Throughout his football career, he’s had people in his corner but not like Spencer has.

What Jordan is seeking, to be honest, is the spotlight. Does he deserve it? Yes. He’s been through hell and back and deserves a shot at the big time. But what he’s missing is the fact that he’s already there and he’s doing it with his best friend/brother right next to him.

Jordan And Spencer Are The Real Bond On All American

Jordan wants a coach he can count on and one that will have his back. That’s all good and everything but just leaving a program you help lead to a Bowl Game as a true freshman makes no sense in the grand scheme of things.

The punishment GAU will face is more than likely a 1-2 year Bowl ban. That’s a hard pill to swallow but that still means that Jordan as the starting QB can still put up impressive numbers throughout the season. If he’s in the Heisman race, that Bowl ban won’t hurt that. His Pro Draft rankings will not be affected either. Jordan can still have a great career at GAU despite the NCAA sanctions.

While leaving will afford him his own team, what he must come to realize is that the other team will not have Spencer James. Does that next team have what he’s already built at GAU? As far as looking for that person to have his back, when has Spencer not been there for him and vice versa? Yes, they have had their moments but what brothers haven’t?

Spencer is the star of the team. Just the same as he’s been on every other team he’s been on. But winning is a team game and he’s at his best when Spencer is at his side.

So, his search for something more is not as thoughtful as he’s making it out to be. This is not Beverly High, this is college where there is more than enough room for both Spencer and Jordan to shine, together.

“His Guy” that he’s looking for, Jordan has yet to realize that Spencer has always been him.
