All American: What Should Be Answered In Season 4

All American

As All American gets set for its 4th Season, fans are still left with questions after an explosive ending to its 3rd Season. Who won the State Championship? Who exactly is Carrie? And what will be the outcome of Coop getting shot?

The storylines of All American have always straddled the line of family and tragedy and Season 4, according to the promos promises to be more of the same.

Here are 3 questions fans of All American are asking heading into Season 4.

Why So Much Tragedy For Layla

In the early stages, Layla was the girl who had it all. The famous and rich father, independence, money, beautiful, and smart. But it was still something inside of her seeking attention and acceptance.

While each character has their share of darkness inside, Layla has been fighting through tons of trouble since she appeared onscreen. She’s still coping with the death of her mother. Her father is never around and now she has to deal with the betrayal that Spencer and Olivia caused with their relationship.

Layla was just trying to find her footing in the music business when a knock at the door happened and Layla may never be the same again. It’s clear that Carrie has plans of either killing herself or she and Layla together. Why is Layla the one to always go through such trauma?

Will Asher Become A Coach

With Asher learning that he cannot play in the State Championship Game or football ever again, he must now look for a new outlet. Asher has grown on fans. He has transformed from a spoiled brat to a great teammate and better friend. His mistakes have cost him plenty, but no matter what, Asher has always managed to land on his feet.

The writers decided to take what he loves most away from him just as he was getting his footing on the field. With his heart disease, Asher has a tough decision to make. He was just offered a full ride to college and now those dreams are shattered.

However, the silver lining in all this was his ability to help his coach construct new plays before the Championship Game. When he offered, we should have seen this route coming for him. Although he may never take the field as a player again, he may have a future in coaching.

Is There A Time Jump

All American has focused on the high school lives of the characters. But what will Season 4 hold for them? With their High School days numbered, how far is this series willing to go to keep its core fanbase?

At the end of Season 3, South Crenshaw and Beverly High were to face off in the State Championship Game. Then the end credits rolled. According to the Season 4 promos, the game took place but it seems it took place without Spencer. We’re guessing he rushed to be by Coop’s side at the hospital.

But other shots show the characters off the field. Will this be a season where the game lasts all season and we will get glimpses or will we get the answer right off bat. If so, does that mean we will follow them till they graduate?

This is a football-based show and without the shots of Spencer on the field, will the writers take that risk of losing fans? The best possible solution would be to give them a time jump. Make it a year into their freshmen year of college where they all return home for the summer would be a great move.
