All Could Be Well For the Indianapolis Colts Next Season

NFL Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts are on the clock. While they do not have the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the front office has to start doing their homework. The 2019 season was one of shock and awe, to say the least.

In a season where they were picked to make the same charge in which the Tennessee Titans did, the Colts were blindsided by the sudden retirement of QB Andrew Luck. From there, it was downhill record-wise but there were some great moments that proved that a complete rebuilding process is not needed.

According to reports, the Colts should target either a receiver or QB in the 2020 NFL Draft. Jacoby Brissett was solid but is he the long-term answer? He finished the year with 2942 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions while completing 60.9 percent of his passes.

Marlon Mack produced a good season with 1091 yards rushing to go along with eight touchdowns on the ground. The receiver position was led by T.Y. Hilton and his 45 catches for 501 yards and five touchdowns coupled with Zach Pascal (41 catches, 607 yards) and TE Jack Doyle (43 receptions, 448 yards).

With Pascal a free agent this season, the Colts have no choice but to lock him up for another 3-4 years on a new deal. He’s a great piece to have on the opposite side of Hilton.

For fans sitting at home watching the Titans, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens. and the San Francisco 49ers make major strides, they can take satisfaction in knowing that the Colts are just a few pieces away. Look at where each of those aforementioned teams were before this year.

The 49ers dealt with an injury to Garoppola. The Ravens were just turning the offense over to Lamar Jackson. The Titans rode a wave but faltered, and the Bills were struggling with a rookie at the lead position. There’s hope for the Indianapolis Colts.

The Indianapolis Colts finished their season 7-9 but a closer look will reveal how close they were. While they did lose games against the Oakland Raiders, Tampa Bay buccaneers, and the Miami Dolphins, they also had wins against playoff teams. They managed to beat the Kansas City Chiefs, Houston Texans, and the Tennessee Titans.

Those wins alone should give them confidence going into the next season. If Hilton was healthy, this might be a different article. The Colts went through growing pains and were forced to readjust their game plan after the Luck news.

If you’re still not convinced why you should be intrigued about the upcoming season, the Indianapolis Colt will give you $96M reasons why. They will enter the offseason with a slew of money to upgrade and fill any holes that must be plugged.

For a team that fought until the end of the year, lost their franchise QB, their No. 1 receiver for six games, and asked a once third-stringer to lead the charge, the Indianapolis Colts find themselves in a great position for the 2020 NFL season.
