All In: Stephen Amell, Star of Arrow, set to have his first singles match
We are a few weeks away from the eyes of the wrestling world being All In on Chicago. September 1st is when All In will be taking place at the Sears Centre in Illinois. It’s worth mentioning that the mindset behind this event is Bullet Club members Cody Rhodes, Nick Jackson, and Matt Jackson. In addition, it’s the first event not being run by the WWE or WCW that was able to promote professional wrestling in a venue that holds 10,000 since 1993.
Between the Young Bucks YouTube show, “Being the Elite,” and the All In Twitter account, they have been announcing the matches that will be happening on the show. It’s known that the headliner match will see Nick Aldis (formerly Magnus of TNA) defend the NWA World Heavyweight title against Cody. However, one of the matches on the All In card is rather interesting. We will see former ROH champion Christopher Daniels take on Stephen Amell. Stephen Amell happens to be the actor who plays Oliver on the hit CW show Arrow. In fact, this isn’t the first time that Amell has appeared in a wrestling ring.
Back in 2015, he was petitioning to get on WWE. This would lead to a feud between him and Stardust. For a while, the feeling was that we would get a one-on-one match between Amell and Stardust. It would end up being a tag-team match that would see Stephen Amell team with Neville to take on Stardust and King Barrett. Stephen Amell would end up returning to ROH in 2017, where he would officially become a member of Bullet Club. At the Survival of the Fittest show, Amell would team with Rhodes, Kenny Omega, and the Young Bucks in a five-on-four tag match where they would defeat the Addiction, Flip Gordon, and Scorpio Sky. At All In, it will be his first ever singles match as he takes on Christopher Daniels.
The storyline that they are using is that Daniels framed Amell in the “death” of Joey Ryan. Nonetheless, I always have a problem when a celebrity has a match. It is because you know it won’t be good. However, Amell seems to be getting better. Thus, it will be interesting to see how it all plays out in Chicago on September 1st.
