AEW All Out: Shawn Spears/Cody Match Has A New Layer
We are over a month away from All Out in Chicago. This will be AEW’s 2nd biggest show after Double or Nothing. As of this writing, there are only two confirmed matches for All Out. Hangman Page takes on Chris Jericho for the AEW World Heavyweight title. In addition, Kenny Omega will take on Jon Moxley (fka Dean Ambrose). After both Fyter Fest and Fight for the Fallen, the groundwork has been placed for the remaining card.
One of the matches we are expecting to see happen at All Out will see Shawn Spears take on his former friend, Cody. This became more probably after Spears smashed a chair on Cody’s head. However, the challenge wasn’t officially laid out on the first episode of Road to All Out. The storyline that they seem to be going with is that Shawn Spears is trying to show Cody who he really is. Shawn’s claim is that once Cody became EVP and wore the suit, he forgot who he was.

After the challenge was laid out in his sit down with Jim Ross, Shawn Spears did mention how he had a trick up his sleeve. After he says this, WWE Hall of Famer Tully Blanchard appeared on screen. He then whispered something into Spears’ ear. After which he then looked at JR and told him the interview was over.
The build and interest for this match was already there. By now adding Tully Blanchard to the mix, things will be getting more interest. If your a wrestling historian, then you know the rivarly between Tully Blanchard and Cody and Dustin Rhodes dad, Dusty Rhodes. When this match becomes official, I suspect we will see Dustin Rhodes in his brothers corner to defend their fathers honor.
All Out is August 31st and stay in tune with the Comeback Wrestling Show and Caveman Radio Show website for all the latest info as AEW invades the windy city in a few weeks.
