Apple TV+: Ranking Their Best Shows So Far

Apple Tv+ announcement

Apple TV+ is off to a slow start compared to the already established Netflix and newcomer Disney+. With a ton of content under their belt, their competitors already have a head start. Luckily for Apple, they’ve got some big names attached to their projects and quality over quantity might help them in the long run. We’re breaking down the top shows we’ve seen so far.

Dickinson/For All Mankind

While these are two separate shows, we’re lumping them together because between the two of them we’ve only got to one episode each. Not that they’re bad by any standards, but with all the current shows and interest of the other offers from Apple TV+ they both slid down the list.

Dickinson follows the life of Emily Dickinson and her struggles and inspiration for her work.

For All Mankind is the alternate reality where the US wasn’t the first to land on the moon.

Both shows we intend to get back to once caught up on our current shows.

SEE

Jason Momoa is the bro that everyone would love to have. His energy and love for his fans are infectious and we respect his hustle. Post-apocalyptic movies and shows aren’t something new but SEE had a neat twist to it. Without the ability to see society had to relearn how to fend for themselves. SEE definitely had it’s moments where believability was off, but strong ending tied it all together.

Truth Be Told

This is one of Apple TV+ more intriguing shows, truth be told. Yes,  pun intended. Crime dramas are always at the top of everyone’s list and this one has just enough mystery to fill the void from other crime dramas. With Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad and Octavia Spencer from just about everything these days, it has star power just the same as the other shows. We’re not to the end of this one yet but it has a ton of upside.

The Morning Show

Easily one of Apple TV+’s most renowned shows going into launch. With stars like Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Anniston, and Steve Carell the show was thrust into the forefront. Oddly enough, the trio is typically tethered to the comedy genre so this was a step out of the comfort zone for sure. However, The Morning Show was shockingly relevant and dramatic without feeling too forced.

Mythic Quest:

Apple TV+ has its first comedy and it is already a hit. A workplace comedy about the life of game developers has a very Silicon Valley feel to it. HBO had success with Silicon Valley and if Mythic Quest can keep their stories fresh, it could see similar results. Some faces you might recognize? Rob McElhenney of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia fame and Danny Pudi who most will remember from Community but the appeal is some of the lesser-knowns. If you loved Silicon Valley, give Mythic Quest a try
