Apple TV+: Why It’s Better Than The Latest Streaming Services
When it comes to streaming, every studio out there is taking advantage of the subscription model for home viewing. Peacock and Paramount are the newest services on the block, but Disney/Hulu, and Netflix still rule the block as far as overall content. Apple TV+ seems to be the low man on the totem pole, but do they have a model that sets them apart from the rest?
When it comes to streaming, every service is offering up exclusive content to pull subscribers in. Friends being exclusive to HBO Max. The Office is exclusive to Peacock. Each has its own content that you can only get on that streaming service. However, here’s the problem. They’re each offering services of $8 or higher. Now you can download the free or cheaper versions of these apps but chances are you run into the hassle of commercial viewing, and that’s not why we stream. Top it off with the fact that their best shows aren’t offered at the lower price tier and they’ve got you on the hook.

Then again, let’s talk about that exclusive content that costs you a more hefty dollar. Yes, each service offers new content, but we should say “new” content. So far, fans might pay for the exclusive content to watch the older fan favorites. But all the original content they’re offering is re-treads or reboots of old fan favorites. Studios aren’t taking chances on new content.
That’s where Apple TV+ comes in. Right now, while there’s content that is purchased and offered exclusively through their app, they’ve taken a lot of chances. The majority of the shows being promoted through Apple TV+ are fresh and newly offered shows. Shows like The Morning Show, Ted Lasso, and Mythic Quest are not only new, but so far they’re a hit. Then there’s SEE, Truth Be Told, and Dickinson are just as entertaining to watch. Top it all off with the award show nominations, and Apple seems to be doing what other services aren’t, succeeding at original content.
Other streaming services have the backing of a big backlog of classic television and movies, but Apple TV+ is starting from scratch. While they might not be the big name on the block, they’ve definitely put their stamp on the streaming market.
