Aquaman Trailer: Is this the Change DC needed? – Cavemen Radio Show

Aquaman

With the trailer finally being released, we now know what took them so long. Aquaman dropped their first full-length trailer at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend and to many’s surprises, it looks amazing. With Jason Momoa leading the way, Aquaman has already reeled in the anticipation. Now fans will have to wait until December to see if the stand-alone film following the life of Arthur Curry can match the success of DC’s Wonder Woman film.

All the way as far back as Batman v Superman, Jason Momoa has been teased as Aquaman. A scene from the film sees Bruce Wayne looking into people with a unique set of skills and abilities, preparing for what is yet to come. We get our first glimpses of Cyborg, Flash, and Aquaman early in the creative process, teasing audiences on what’s to come. Fast forward to Justice League and

What’s great about Jason Momoa’s Aquaman is Momoa is night and day different from people’s perception of the character. Even with the differences between the two, there’s still a version in the comics that Momoa does resemble. The tattoos might be an interesting twist, but the long hair and beard are similar to later iterations of Arthur Curry. One of the original members of the Justice League, Aquaman hasn’t been given the same respect as all the other members. With the ability to “talk to fish” the character hasn’t stood much of the test of time.

With that being said, Momoa brings a sense of badassery to the character. His short stint on Game of Thrones quickly established him as a household name. From there, he’d go on to portray Declan Harp on Netflix’s Frontier, set in the 1700’s based on the capitalization of the fur trade. It was only a matter of time before his phone would be flooded to be the next jacked up, powerhouse following in the footsteps of the action heroes before him. The best part about it is following his social media on Instagram. Not only does he have the muscle and physique to intimidate, he’s also got the likable personality similar to Dwayne Johnson where you can’t help but root for. From here on out, the more roles he takes the more you’ll be drawn to his movies.

With any luck, Aquaman will show his acting chops and it’ll only be a matter of time before his face is plastered all over Hollywood. His celebrity status has skyrocketed over the years and DC’s Aquaman is already building up the hype. The trailer alone looks to have the lighter tone fans want, the visual effects needed for an underwater adventure, and a spot on adaptation of the comics with their own twist.
