Are the Buffalo Sabres For Real?
There’s nothing more depressing than being a Buffalo sports fan. Each year between the Bills and the Sabres theres heartbreak in western New York. Once the seasons starts there’s plenty of hope and optimism. There’s even seasons where each team makes a push for the playoffs and gives the fans hope and the next season they’re right back where they started
This year’s Buffalo Bills team is off to a hot start as well, the younger class of talent has the Bills 4-1 losing only to the undefeated New England Patriots in a close game.
Now the Buffalo Sabres appear to be off to the same type of hot start as the Bills. Eight games into the season the Sabres are 6-1-1 so far to start the season. New head coach Ralph Kreuger has the team pushing them past the struggles they’ve had in the past.
Finishing last in 2018-2019 with just 25 wins on the season the team had plenty to improve on. Even after the team attempted to move defensemen Rasmus Ristolainen before the season, their hot start has the team rethinking that strategy. Any time a team leads their division there’s no reason to hit the panic button and move on from any player that is contributing. With a cooled market and his fresh start his stay in Buffalo seems to be extended.
2019 might be the year for Buffalo sports but let’s not get our hopes up. We’ve seen the Bills start with 4-5 wins and finish with 6 wins on the season. With only 10% of the season under their belt there’s plenty of room to fall apart for the Sabres as well. So which Buffalo sports teams are we getting this season? The ones that give hope and make a strong playoff run, or the ones that start hot only to fall apart in the end? Either way, cheers to the fast start for both teams.
