Arrow: Has Oliver Suited Up for the Last Time – Cavemen Radio Show

Stephen Amell in Arrow

Arrow kicked off its amazing seven season run with a great first episode titled “Inmate 4587”. This episode in particular was a shake up for the Green Arrow due to the events of last year’s season finale. If you haven’t watched already, in an effort to save his friends Oliver Queen admits to being the Green Arrow to grant his fellow vigilantes immunity. In doing so the Arrow is arrested and sent to prison.

Fast forward to this season and we see a much less clean shaved Oliver, wakes up in prison, which of course is the same prison he sent many of the guys he’s caught. Season 7’s first episode so far is the most important for how the rest of the series could play out. Oliver has lost so much in the past seven years that its hard to imagine just how much worse his life can get. From the often celebrated hero to the most hated man in the yard, we’ll end up seeing a changed Oliver Queen.

Then of course there’s the end of the show that’s clearly a tease of things to come. Throughout Inmate 4587 we see another vigilante taking up the Green Arrow mantle. None of the usual suspects seem to have an idea who the masked man is but based on what they’ve been told, none of them are the culprit at the request of Oliver. Most of Team Arrow 2.0 is on board with respecting Oliver’s wishes, with of course the usual exception of Wild Dog. Why can’t this dude ever be a team player? He’s clearly the obvious choice to be the man running around as the Green Arrow.

Fast-forward to the end of the show’s reveal, and we see just who is under the hood. Much like season 1 of Legends a new Arrow has come forward in the future and it’s not Oliver Queen. This has huge implications as to how long Oliver is in prison. As die-hard comic fans know, nothing is ever permanent. However, with Oliver’s recent trouble in prison pushing him to his breaking point he might be there for quite some time. After threatening Felicity’s safety, Oliver goes on an all out rampage in the prison yard, kicking ass and taking names. Nothing about his rage says getting off with good behavior. Is Arrow foreshadowing a post-Oliver Queen vigilante?[CMRickTwitter]
