Last week against the Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan threw three interceptions and the fans started with their “we need a new QB” chant. Is that fair to Ryan and the Falcons?

According to Joe Beasley of BlogginDirty, fans won’t appreciate Matt Ryan until he’s gone.

Ryan has taken major hits over his career for not winning the big games. While that may hold some truth to it, Falcons’ fans must also realize it could be a lot worse.

Just imagine if they had a Ryan Tannehill, Blake Bortles, Andrew Luck or even Case Keenum behind center every Sunday. Instead, what they do have is a player who has passed for 47,344 yards and 300 touchdowns while completing 65.4 percent of his passes.

No, there are no Super Bowl rings on his fingers, but Matt Ryan is still one of the best in the NFL.

According to Beasley; ” Ryan won’t play a perfect game every game and that fine. News flash: neither did Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and a slew of other Hall of Famers. The only way Ryan will receive the credit he deserves is when the Atlanta Falcons finally get to hoist the Lombardi trophy and even then there will still be doubters”.

Winning it all does make a huge difference in one’s career and how fans will view a player. But what fans of the Falcons must realize is that it could always be worse.
