Baltimore brings back inside linebacker Josh Bynes to add to their linebacking core and waived outside linebacker Tim Williams, a former third-round pick.

With the inside linebacker issues and undrafted rookie Otaro Alaka placed on injured reserve, the Baltimore Ravens bring back Josh Bynes, as he was with the Ravens when they won the Super Bowl in 2013. Former Arizona Cardinal and Detroit Lion inside linebacker give the Ravens another veteran at that position along with L.J. Fort, as they also signed him earlier this week. With the Ravens in 2011-2013, Bynes started nine games and had 76 combined tackles as mostly a role player. As an eight-year veteran, he has the experience to play some snaps and even though he would not start; this should be a wake-up call to Patrick Onwuasor, Kenny Young, and Chris Board. Fort should play some special teams early on while Bynes will get in the inside linebacker rotation.

I would not be surprised if they sign an outside linebacker as they worked out a few veterans this week, including defensive lineman in general.

Tim Williams, a former third-round pick in 2017, was waived by the Ravens as Tyus Bowser looks like he could play more snaps in rotation with Matt Judon and Pernell McPhee. Bowser is safe for now but Williams was the odd man out. Both had the chance to get a starting opportunity but it was telling in the snap count that they did not trust Tim Williams and had to let him go due to the lack of productivity when he did get snaps. The former Alabama pass rusher had two sacks, 18 combined tackles (only two tackles in 2019), three tackles for loss, and five quarterback hits in three years with Baltimore. The situational pass rusher just was not good enough against the run to play more snaps for the Ravens.
