Boba Fett: The Mandalorian Proves What The Show Is Missing
Disney+ surprised everyone when they announced The Book of Boba Fett. The beloved character has been missing in action since the early Star Wars days. Everyone’s favorite bounty hunter was going to be back on screen for audiences to love. Now there are mixed reviews when it comes to the show and it’s already dividing Star Wars fans.
On the sands of Tatoonie, bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigate the Galaxy’s underworld and fight for Jabba the Hutt’s old territory.
When it comes to The Book of Boba Fett, something seems to have been missing. Five episodes in and the story feels like it’s dragging at times. The audiences want the old bad-ass bounty hunter that is one of the more feared men in the galaxy. The problem is, fans know that it’ll be a short 7-episode season. When it comes to a Disney+ series, Marvel has proved so far that there’s no guarantee there will be a second season. So if Boba Fett is just a limited-run series, then it’s moving at a very unnatural pace. Of course, we’re all hoping for a second season but only if the action picks up.

This brings us to the next problem. So far, The Book of Boba Fett isn’t really bringing the action. The most action we’ve seen on the series hasn’t even involved Fett. The majority of the butt-kicking comes from Fennec Shand, Boba Fett’s enforcer. Then of course there was the latest episode. While we were all excited to see Mando back, this episode proved exactly what the series was missing.
When the Mandalorian shows back up with the darksaber, we see a heavy dose of the hero overpowering his adversaries. In a series about Boba Fett, we want to see him getting in on that kind of action. So far he’s walked away from every battle but not without getting his backside handed to him in the process.
While it’s nice to see a fan favorite back on screen, the Book of Boba Fett seems like a stall. What little action we’ve seen so far has little to do with the main character. Hopefully, the final few episodes will right a few wrongs and bring the character back to good favor with audiences. If it is a one-season show, it will seem like it missed its mark.
