Bogdan Bogdanovic Has Confidence Going Into The NBA Season

Kings

Make the case that Bogdan Bogdanovic was the best player at the FIBA World Cup. There’s certainly one to be made. The Serbian star lit up opposing teams during the tournament. How will this carry over into the NBA season?

Bogdanovic was damn near unstoppable during the 2019 tournament. His averages of 22.9 points (2nd among all players), 4.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists displayed a nice all-around game for the Sacramento Kings star. If we learned anything from the FIBA, it’s that Bogdanovic isn’t afraid to be the leader on a team.

Playing with NBA MVP candidate, Nikola Jokic, Bogdanovic looked like the best player on the court. It felt as if he controlled the fate of the Serbian team. As he went, so did his teammates. For the Kings backup SG to have that kind of moxie and poise, it makes for a great omen to start the 2019-20 NBA season.

Bogdanovic has always been a legit NBA scorer. He can put up points with the best of them. However, playing behind Buddy Hield for most of the season, Bogie didn’t get the time to showcase his talents to his full ability. With an average of 14 points for the 2018-19 NBA season, he really increased his average at the FIBA World Cup, proving, when given court time, he’s elite.

With only one single digit scoring game in the entire World Cup, Bogdanovic really just scored at will. Six of his eight games were 20+ point performances, two of which he went for 31 points. This kind of scoring touch is what Kings fans want to see.

It’s expected that Bogdanovic will start the season as the Sacramento Kings sixth man. That’s not bad, as they will benefit from his energy and scoring ability. Although, Bogdan Bogdanovic is much more than just a sixth man. He can be a bonafide star scorer in the NBA. While he won’t start games much for the Kings, the Serbian star is capable of handling a heavy load for the Kings.

The one issue with Bogdanovic is his consistency. He’s not always going to score 20 points a night from the bench. There will be games that Bogdanovic gets in the single digits. He did that in the FIBA World Cup with his one single digit scoring game. However, the added confidence boost will help him become a more consistent scorer.

If you don’t think Bogdan Bogdanovic is capable of this kind of elite production during the NBA season, you just don’t know basketball. He can be every bit as good for the Sacramento Kings as the Serbian team. You can expect him to carry this confidence from FIBA over into the regular season.
