Borderlands: 3 Characters Who Deserve A Spin-off

Gearbox's Borderlands

Now that Borderlands has spun multiple sequels, they’ve branched out into solo games such as Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. With both of the looter-shooters being such a success, who else could use their own spin-off game in the world of Borderlands?

Torgue:

While there are always a ton of guns and gadgets in a Borderlands game, what we really lack is the explosions. Do you know who else really likes explosions? Mr. Torgue himself. The foul-mouthed master of mayhem has a striking resemblance to 80s-90s wrestler Macho Man Randy Savage. What fun would a Torgue spin-off be with explosions galore, some tactical and some chaotic? The kicker is since he does have that Macho Man look, why not make the playable characters take that same persona? Have them be spinoffs of old-school wrestlers and the villains be masked luchador.

Handsome Jack

Handsome Jack was easily the best part of Borderlands 2 as the villain, but it seems like he wasn’t always that way. Fans have thought the game killed him off too quickly but bringing him back would be easy. Maybe not in Borderlands 4, but his own game could easily build. to his villainous rule. Just like Tiny Tina Wonderlands was spawned from a Borderlands 2 DLC, Handsome Jack was a Pre Sequel DLC showing there’s plenty of opportunity to expand on what they’ve already established.

Claptrap

This one would be a bit challenging but can still make for an exciting spin. A robot that has no powers and no attacks throughout the game would pose an issue. However, the world of Borderlands is a vast space with plenty of opportunities. Throughout the series, Claptrap has been able to maneuver his way into areas and spaces as he hacks his way into machines, locks, and gates. Would it be too far of a stretch to have him be the instigator of a machine uprising?

Borderlands is already a fan favorite with its perfect mix of chaos and humor. No matter what direction they go with sequels or spin-offs, there’s a good chance that fans will love it so long as they keep the mayhem coming.
