Bound for Glory: It’s time for Sami Callahan to get a title run
As we found out, Sami Callahan is set to take on Brian Cage for the Impact title at Bound for Glory. Sami Callahan was someone who didn’t make it in the WWE. It was not that he couldn’t make it, the character that they gave him didn’t get over. Like we have seen often, a wrestler didn’t do well in the WWE and wanted to bet on themselves. Just ask guys like Hideo Itami (Kenta), Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley), Tye Dillinger (Shawn Spears) and the biggest one of Cody.
Not only is the match at Bound for Glory important to Sami Callahan, the event of Bound of Glory is also major. Back at Bound for Glory 2017, Sami Callahan made his debut by interfering in a 5150 Street fight between OVE and LAX. He ended up helping OVE retain the tag titles. In the two years that Callahan has been with Impact, he has become one of the focal points to the program. People were tuning in to see what he would do. While Cage has been an average champion, I really think it’s time for Sami Callahan to get a run.I’m aware that Cage has been dealing with back issues throughout his run, it’s still time for Sami to get a run.
With talk of his contract coming up a lot lately, you would have to figure that AEW or WWE have interest in him. The last time a true heel held the Impact title in my opinion was Ethan Carter 3. Let’s be real about something else, Impact Wrestling has invested a ton of time into OVE. In the last couple of months, they seem to be on TV in one way or another.
The only other match that has been confirmed for Bound for Glory will be Moose taking on Ken Shamrock. Caveman Radio Show and Comeback Wrestling Show will have the latest on the road to Bound for Glory.
