Brandon Ingram Is Close To Breaking That Glass Ceiling

Brandon Ingram

It’s about time Brandon Ingram lives up to some of his potential. There years into his NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers, he’s having his best season yet. The injury to LeBron has been a blessing in disguise for Ingram. How much better can he become?

Ingram has played like an All-Star since returning from Injury on December 21st. The Small Forward from Duke has scored in double digits each game. He’s averaged 19.2 points during this stretch. This also includes 6 games of 5 or more rebounds.

Lakers coach, Luke Walton, called out Ingram and fellow Los Angeles teammate, Lonzo Ball. He Questioned their effort. At first, it seemed puzzling why Walton called him out. Ingram has been the Lakers best player since LeBron went down with an injury.

That’s a really scary thought for most teams. Ingram can get to the basket with ease. He’s got such a long wingspan, making it possible to get to the basket with one or two dribbles. This comment might get a lot of hate, but Ingram has a lot of similarities to Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

He’s got the scoring touch of KD and the length of Antetokounmpo. He’s obviously a broke man’s version of those two, but the games are similar. The comparisons to Durant were there on Draft night. Ingram just needs to put it all together.

That’s what everyone is waiting on.

Brandon Ingram could easily score 20+ points on a nightly basis. It’s taken some time for the breakout season, but, he’s still got a lot we haven’t seen from his game. That’s probably why Walton called Ingram out. Despite being the Los Angeles Lakers best player with LBJ out, the head coach knows what he’s capable of.

The Los Angeles Lakers have toyed with the idea of trading Ingram. That’s a big mistake, as he’s seen as utility knife of sorts. He can do just about anything on the court. With all the work they’ve put into him, the haul back should be extremely high, even if he’s deemed expendable by the Lakers.

It’s honestly ridiculous to trade Ingram. There’s not a player you could get that’ll produce as he can. Either the Lakers continue his development, or, trade him and get a veteran who’s ceiling has been reached and hinder the future of the team. LeBron won’t be around forever. Despite what many think, the Lakers aren’t better off without Ingram.

Brandon Ingram’s potential is sky-high. He’s still capable of so much more, though. Still, Ingram lived up to the billing this season. Yet, with just a little more hard work, he’s breaking that glass ceiling. If LeBron and Walton can push him to the limit in LA, the league will be put on notice.
