Brooklyn Nets: Now It’s All About The Chemistry
The Brooklyn Nets are sitting 7th in the Eastern Conference and will need to make a serious move if the playoffs are their goal this year. With news that Kyrie Irving is out indefinitely with a shoulder injury, the Nets will need to channel their mojo from last year, block out the outside noise, and just play basketball. But can this team do that?
Will they be able to fight through the struggles they have faced this year and come out better for it? Armed with a strong backcourt in Spencer Dinwiddie and Caris LeVert, they have a legit shot. However, the Nets are still haunted by things that are and may continue to hold them back from achieving their ultimate goal.
More NBA: New York Knicks – This Season Is All Wrong
One of the main issues the Brooklyn Nets have dealt with has been their chemistry. Yes, after a made dunk or a killer crossover, the players on the bench are the first ones on their feet cheering for their teammates. However, that’s what’s on the outside. The Nets have been injured this entire season beginning with Kevin Durant all the way down to Wilson Chandler. Now, in order for them to make some sort of tough playoff run, they will need to get on the same page.
Last season, it was much of the same. With the addition of a few new players and others such as Caris LeVert coming into their own, the Nets group had to band together and become one. The 2019-20 team is so lost, that all the new additions could be the main reason they can’t focus right.
Spencer Dinwiddie, LeVert, and Jarrett Allen must put this team on their backs and man up. With Irving out, this is now Dinwiddie’s team. He has to gather the troops and get back to doing what they love to do and that’s just playing ball.
More smiles will equal wins. It’s hard to focus on what’s being done on the court when the hot topic of conversations always shifts to next season when Durant returns or listening to make sure Irving is not in the news giving sound bites.
This will be a defining moment for Kenny Atkinson, yet again, He knows that the 2020-21 season is where he will get the recognition, but this season is all about the respect if he can lead this team to the playoffs. with Irving and Durant out, the Brooklyn Nets can focus on what matters most–winning.
