Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Season 7 is Happening on NBC
Remember the heartbreak from Brooklyn Nine-Nine being cancelled on Fox last season?
Remember a day later feeling like a kid on Christmas when you found out NBC picked up your favorite comedy for another season?
Well apparently they’re at it again. With the success of season 6, it was announced that Brooklyn Nine-Nine would be returning for a season 7, and it’s second on NBC. Brooklyn Nine-Nine has a huge fan and social media following and it’s no surprise NBC decided to take a gamble.
Per NBC, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” has averaged a 1.4 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.9 million viewers overall in “live plus seven day” Nielsens, an increase of 8% in 18-49 rating and 34% or 1.0 million persons in total viewers versus its average at this point last season on Fox (1.3 in 18-49, 2.9 million viewers). “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” is one of the strongest digital performers on the NBC schedule, deriving 45% of its “live plus seven day plus digital” rating in adults 18-49 from non-linear sources, the highest percentage among NBC shows.
“It’s been one of our great joys as a network to give ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ a second life,Cheers to Dan Goor, Mike Schur, Luke Del Tredici and David Miner, and our amazing cast and crew who each week turn New York’s finest into New York’s funniest.”
Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, Co-Presidents of Scripted Programming, NBC Entertainment.
One of the funnier shows on television, Brooklyn Nine-Nine has kept fans laughing season after season with consistency. Not only has it been consistently funny, the cast hasn’t had to go through the awkwardness of introducing too many new side characters or losing too many reoccurring. The show has enjoyed its overall fun and excitement with little to no changes, other than the network (and a few new captains along the way).
Returning for a season 7 after the short cancellation has to excite the fans that doubted its future. Hopefully, Brooklyn Nine-Nine will continue to make fans laugh for years to come.
