Can The Cleveland Browns Move On From Their Week 1 Loss?

Baker Mayfield

How can the Cleveland Browns fix themselves? It’s only been 1 week, however, this wasn’t the team we expected. A lot of missed opportunities and mental mistakes cost this team a victory. Can they get back on track before it’s too late?

You can’t really say the Tennessee Titans won the matchup. Simply put, the Browns just lost it. Despite what the score might indicate, Cleveland shot themselves in the foot with 18 penalties for 182 yards. No team, no matter how good, will succeed with that kind of discipline.

The Browns are a better team than the Titans. In fact, the Browns are a better team than most in the NFL. We can chalk this up to a learning experience. However, players will need to step up. This includes QB, Baker Mayfield, who didn’t have the best of games. Although, a lot of that can be attributed to a poor offensive line.

The season isn’t over for the Cleveland Browns. Performances like Sunday will make it tough for them to dig themselves out of this Week 1 hole. The critics have already spoken. Although, Cleveland’s most wanted, Colin Cowherd, believes they’ll be 9-7 and fight for the playoffs. Not everyone is counting them out.

Cleveland had a lot of fanfare going into this season. The attention was finally put on them. All of the talk put a target on their backs. Teams will go out and give the Browns everything they’ve got. Mayfield and company need to be up for that challenge every game. Going out and nabbing 18 penalties isn’t being up for the challenge.

There’s still reason for optimism. If you’re a Cleveland Browns fan and have given up, there is no room for you on the playoff train. Things will get worked out. Cleveland played their worst possible game against the Titans. They’ll only get better from here. That’s a guarantee.
