Carolina Panthers: 3 Bold Predictions For 2018-19 Season

The Carolina Panthers are looking to regain their spot atop the NFC South division and march toward another shot at a championship. With Cam Newton and a stingy defense leading the way, anything is possible for the new look Panthers in 2018.

Here are 3 Bold Predictions for the Carolina Panthers 2018-19 season.

Christian McCaffrey Will Have A 2000 Yard Season

The Panthers struck gold in the 2017 NFL Draft with their selection of RB McCaffrey. While many doubted where or not he could succeed at the NFL level, all McCaffrey did was rush for 435 yards on 117 carries while catching 80 passes for 651 yards. All this was done while sharing the backfield with Jonathan Stewart and Cam Newton. So what’s to be expected from McCaffrey now that he’s the featured back? More of the same but on a larger scale. There’s no denying that Christian McCaffrey could become the next Marshall Faulk or Roger Craig this season with 1000 yards rushing and 1000 yards receiving.

The Panthers Will Make A Trade For Odell Beckham

Despite all the success Newton has had over his career, he’s been without a true No. 1 receiver since Steve Smith left for Baltimore. However, all that can change if the Panthers are serious about a major upgrade. While the New York Giants are saying great things about Odell Beckham lately, the elephant in the room is that he still may be out as early as the trade deadline. This could be the opportunity the Panthers need to give Newton a viable weapon to help lead the team back to the Super Bowl. The price will be high, but Beckham’s production could mean the teams’ first-ever ring.

The Panthers Will Go 5-1 in The NFC South

I would love to say they will go undefeated but the NFC South is one of, if not the toughest division in the NFL. Getting past that Tampa Bay Buccaneers would be rather easy. The team is not but to win, it’s that simple. The New Orleans Saints and the Panthers always go toe-to-toe but this year, the Panthers’ defense will be ready for Drew Brees and Co. But it’s the Atlanta Falcons that will give the Panthers their lone loss in division play.
