Caveman Catch Up: DC’s Doomsday Clock
Here at CavemenRadioShow.com, we understand that not everyone has the time of day to stay caught up with each and every growing trend. While we like to think we have our finger on the trigger of the latest in sports and media, every so often one slips throughout fingers. That’s where Cavemen Catch Up comes into play. For those of you who don’t have F.O.M.O. like us, we’ll go back and cover the occasional thing we may have missed. This time it’s DC Comics’ Doomsday Clock.
“The world of Watchmen collides with the DC Universe in the most shocking story in DC history! Written by master storytellers Geoff Johns and Gary Frank–As the Doomsday Clock ticks toward midnight, the DC Universe will encounter with its greatest threat: Dr. Manhattan. But nothing is hidden from Manhattan, and the secrets of the past, present, and future will leave ramifications on our heroes’ lives forever.”

Doomsday Clock was a very hard book to follow while it was being published. The writers realized what they were in for and the publication kept pushing back the release dates for each of the later issues. With 12 altogether it took some time to get the whole story in place. Putting it off until I had every issue was a wiser approach because if you’re anything like me you have a terrible memory.
On top of the fact, you have to recall the entire Watchmen storyline, break down what’s happening in the Doomsday Clock story, and piece together what it meant for the whole DC Universe. This wasn’t your average comic book.
Though it has been owned by DC for some time, the Watchmen world never came to crossover with their main universe. With Doomsday Clock, we get the best of both worlds. How does the Watchmen story tie into the lives of Superman, Batman, and the rest of the DC universe? Will it finally cap off some of the stories left with DC’s Rebirth storyline we’ve been missing out on?
