LOST

Hey, Fans! Cavemen Rick here with some exciting news. I’m back with a second Cavemen Rewind, a reoccurring piece where we go back and review older shows we haven’t watched yet or a rewatch of some of our favorites. It’s been almost a year since the first Cavemen Rewind, what the hell have I been doing? Whatever, I’m back at it and like you all, we like catching things we didn’t see the first time around and the excitement of first time viewer discussion. Got a good show you want our ideas on, contact us and we’ll get on it! Next up is LOST on Hulu.

If you didn’t watch LOST when it first came out, then you’re one of the few people who just doesn’t buy into the hype. From a survival show about the survivors of a plane crash that landed on a remote island, the show quickly spun out of control and produced some of the wildest theories in television history. From the smoke monster to the button, to the Dharma Initiative everyone had ideas and theories of what each was and how they affected the chances of survival on the island.

If you’ve never watched LOST from the beginning then you’re in for a treat. What starts as a typical boring plot quickly pulls you in with intrigue. LOST is peppered with mystery and suspense and some of the greatest episodes of television ever. Personally, most of the appeal of the show comes from character development along the way. The characters we hate at the beginning, we sympathize with at the end. Characters we loved, became characters we’d hate. It doesn’t have the “nobody is safe” angle that shows like Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead adapted along the way, but certain characters survive and others don’t. However, the weight of their loss at times is absolutely crushing.

If you’re looking for a show to binge that you would’ve never given the time of day give LOST a try. But don’t pay attention to that one asshole friend who said they were dead the whole time, he clearly didn’t pay enough attention to the show along the way to know what the hell he’s talking about. LOST changed the way we watched television in a way that every little detail counted. Continuity was key and they did a great job of having things come back around to actually matter. You can watch on Hulu without the distraction of the water cooler talk, as all six seasons are on the streaming service. LOST is one of the all-time best television shows and if you’re not hooked by the end of season one, you might not enjoy television as much as you think.
