Cedar Point: Forbidden Frontier Is Starting To Take Shape

Forbidden Frontier

What do we want to see from Forbidden Frontier at Cedar Point? The new themed section of the park is taking up the old Dinosaurs Alive land. Cedar Fair has been relatively quiet on the details, but that hasn’t stopped enthusiasts from speculating.

One thing we’re believed to be getting at Forbidden Frontier is a ropes course. The announcement came inadvertently during a California Great America presentation. If indeed correct, this would be a major selling point. Ropes courses are always successful.

I’d venture to say we’ll get some interaction between the cast of the island as well. This will be Similar to Ghost Town Alive at Knotts. There will be a lot of stories woven into the land. The actors will bring everything together.

Imagine the detail that will be put into Forbidden Frontier. Surely there will be designed sets and activities. Allegedly, there’s a scavenger hunt of some sort. This is perfect for the younger crowd, one that Cedar Point thrives on capturing.

The park wants to market Forbidden Frontier as a family attraction. With three kids areas at the park already (Camp Snoopy, Planet Snoopy, Kiddie Kingdom) there’s no shortage of things to do for the little ones. If all goes to plan with Forbidden Frontier, this has a chance at being the most immersive kids’ area at Cedar Point. It’s a good option for the pre-teens.

Although kids and families are a major draw for Cedar Point and Forbidden Frontier, there needs to be some sort of payoff for the older crowd. Ideally, they’ll be specialty shops and possibly the addition of alcohol along the path of Forbidden Frontier. The latter isn’t set in stone, but stores and shops aren’t out of the question.

Cedar Point and Cedar Fair haven’t released anything about Forbidden Frontier. They are banking on the curiosity of their guests to find out what the area has to offer. It’s looking promising for sure. Let’s hope it’s as good as it is mysterious.
