Chicago Fire: Is Sylvie Brett Ready To Rekindle An Old Romance After Matt?
And it begins. With Season 11 of Chicago Fire set to premiere on September 21st, there are reports that Sylvie Brett may be ready to move on from her long-distance romance with Matt Casey. For fans of this long-running show and fans of brettsy, this is not good news. We want them to make it and even if they do, the writers for Chicago Fire will not make it easy on them or us.
According to Fansided, Kara Killmer who plays Brett says that an old flame will pass through her life again this upcoming season. Although she didn’t get into specifics regarding who that might be, this does not bode well for one of our favorite coupes.
At the end of Season 10, Brett and Casey decided they needed a break. However, we never saw them actually take that break. As the promos for Season 10 were revealed, we learned that the action picks up the same night as the season-ending cliffhanger. Meaning, there is a strong possibility that Casey is still in Chicago.
Will Sylvie Brett Start A New Relationship?
Maybe they do go their separate ways but why destroy their relationship? And who could this mystery man be? Joe Cruz is married so he’s out of the equation. So that leaves ex-fiance Harrison who we don’t know that much about. There is former lover Antonio Dawson. But he’s been MIA for quite some time after leaving Chicago PD. What about the Chaplin, Kyle Sheffield who she left to come back to Chicago? Or, Greg Grainger who she dated until they both came to terms that it was Casey who Brett wanted.
Either of these men could possibly be the mystery man to return. Kyle could return to Chicago and pick up where he left off as The Chaplin. That may complicate things for Brett as she just walked out of his life with no real explanation. Greg is another hot possibility as he still works in the Chicago Fire Department. They were hot and heavy but it was the presence of Casey that stood in their way. With him gone, the door could be open again.
Is This The End Of Matt And Sylvie
But my money is on Harrison. Since we never actually met the former fiance, this could be a good way for him to be introduced and possibly share some insight into who Brett was before she ran to Chicago.
Seeing Sylvie Brett with another man is not what many fans want to see. We want her and Casey to work things out but what would Chicago Fire be without a little drama? And since when has anything, especially relationships been easy on this show? No matter who is set to return in her life, it’s forever Brettsy until we knew they can never be.
