Chicago Fire: It’s Time For Stella To Punch Seager In The Face

Chicago Fire

The old Kelly Severide is gone. Maybe a few seasons ago, Severide would have given wendy Seager a thought. But now, Severide has grown into a responsible man and yet, the writers of Chicago Fire keep trying to throw drama his way. No matter what he does, he just can’t seem to shake Seager. And it’s only a matter of time before she causes trouble between Severide and Stella. Before things get out of hand, Stella must put Seager in her place.

There haven’t been too many physical altercations on Chicago Fire, especially between the women but maybe it’s time.

Stella has played her part well. Although she pulled a vanishing act on Kelly early this season, she understands not to rock the boat. But the jealousy is there. Seager is coming for Severide. It’s not a matter of “if” but “when” she’s going to make her official move. She’s throwing hints left and right and each time she does, Severide has ignored it.

Seager has not tried to kiss him or anything, but the smile, the way she refers to him on site, and the way she’s always trying to get him to get a drink with her, it’s obvious she’s letting him know she’s available or willing to be kept a secret from Stella. That alone makes this situation dangerous.

Severide has done the right thing but it’s almost as if you can sense the drama building. I have a feeling that the writers will place Severide in a position that will make things worse for him. This is why I believe this must be addressed more sooner than later. Stella has clear knowledge that Seager has a thing for Severide. However, she’s being an adult about it and letting Kelly handle the situation. But how long will Stella continue to sit on the sidelines?

But what if Severide hasn’t caught on yet? Not saying the man is clueless, but what if all he sees is a co-worker and nothing more? If Seager makes her move, Severide must tell Stella. If he doesn’t, then that’s trouble in itself. At that point, Stella will have to confront Seager. Seager is very well aware that Stella and Severide are a couple. So her advances, even as subtle as they are now, puts stells in a position where this must be addressed.

At one point, Stella was on the opposite side of this. When Severide was dating Anna, it was Stella giving subtle hints. Severide didn’t fall for that either. And maybe, that’s what Stella is banking on. But it still leaves the clear message of boundaries. Seager is not respecting Stella’s and it’s only a matter of time before the two women come face-to-face to discuss the invisible line that’s being crossed.
