Christmas Wish List: New York Jets Edition

New York Jets NFL Coach Adam Gase

Every season, whether teams go out and win the Super Bowl, or finish top of the draft order there’s still work that can be done to improve their roster. With Christmas just around the corner, its time to break down wish lists for the NFL starting with the New York Jets

Wins

There’s nothing a New York Jets fan wants than to see at least one win this season, some only want it if the Jacksonville Jaguars can pull off another win before their season’s end as well. However, going winless for an entire season just hits too hard.  the Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions, the rest of the NFL hasn’t gone winless yet. If the Jets can walk away with a win, even against a bad team, the season won’t feel as bad.

Trevor Lawrence

Technically this is on next year’s wish list, but sine there have been rumors of him returning to Clemson next season, the Jets would feel a heck of a lot better hearing he’s declared for the draft. Yes, there’s plenty of QBs in this year’s draft and Sam Bradford isn’t as bad as the Jets look, but losing out on a season and not getting a top tier talent would sting all the more.

Adam Gase to Give Up Play Calling

His ego won’t allow it, but its time for Adam Gase to give up the play calling. In both matchups against the Miami Dolphins alone, they scored a total of 3 points. Not to mention the Jets are at the bottom of the league in total yards. The front office needs to step in and give him an ultimatum. Either he gives up play calling duties, or is relieved as head coach of the New York Jets. It’s a win/win for NY.

A Quick Turn Around

The AFC East has been bad for some time. The only difference is, this year 3 out of 4 teams are in the hunt for a playoff spot. New England might be the furthest from a real shot, but they’re still in it. Both the Bills and Dolphins appear to have finally turned around their awful teams and did so quickly. By now New York Jets fans have to be sick of being the bottom feeders in the division and expect a quick turn around to be competitive again.

There’s so much a winless team could ask for in regards to the holiday, but the New York Jets have promise. In the doom and gloom of their season, they do have talent but it’s mismanaged talent. Even if Adam Gase is the guy to turn them around, there’s minor fixes that could go along way towards competing.
