Cleveland Browns Could Trade Corey Coleman To Make Room For Dez Bryant
The Cleveland Browns may be looking to make another move before the 2018 NFL Draft. According to Randy Gurzi of Daily Dawgs, the Browns may be interested in listening to offers for receiver Corey Coleman. With the offseason deal for Jarvis Landry, plus the return of Josh Gordon, Coleman becomes the odd man out. However, the Browns may make this move in order to make room for the recently released Dez Bryant.
In two seasons, Coleman has caught just 53 passes for 718 yards and five touchdowns. While the Browns’ quarterback situation has not been as stable as other teams, Coleman’s production has failed to meet expectations. With Bryant now available, trading Coleman for a third-round pick and signing Bryant seems like a smart play for the new-look Browns.
According to Cleveland.com, the Browns have decided not to pursue Bryant, but adding a veteran player with his resume may be the best move for a team still searching for an identity and looking to wash the stink off of just one win in the last two seasons. With the Browns going with Tyrod Taylor as their starter for the 2018 season, it would be nice to give him a trio of receivers who can reduce the pressure off their ground game and defense.
The Cleveland Browns Need Dez Bryant
The issue that the Browns may face when it comes to Bryant is his price tag. One of the reasons he was released by the Cowboys was due to $12.5 million he was set to take home this season. But if Bryant is willing to cut his salary for a one-year deal, then why not? The Browns just signed Landry to a new $75.5 million deal and Gordon to a one-year deal that could make him a free agent after this season.
But it still comes down to Coleman. If the Cleveland Browns were to trade Coleman, then why not go for Bryant?
