Coaster Manufacturers Can’t Stack Up To RMC
Is RMC the world’s best coaster manufacturer? There’s a case to be made. With so many different creations, it’s hard to pick a clear favorite. Enthusiasts from all over the world travel to ride their favorite coaster. What makes them so special?
I’ve done 5 RMC Coasters (Goliath, Storm Chaser, Lighting Rod, Steel Vengeance, and the Joker) and each one is a great ride. All are different in their own way. That’s the beauty of RMC. Not one of their coasters is the same. The coaster community adores them, some even worship RMC’s founders.
RMC have started building coasters in Japan and The Netherlands. RMC had built Wildfire at Kolmarden in Sweeden (the only RMC to be built outside of North America), but with 2 separate RMC coasters being built overseas, this is new territory.
A lot of enthusiasts will tell you that RMC can’t be beat. That’s actually true. Steel Vengeance won just about every 2018 Best New Attraction award there is. Lighting Rod, Wicked Cyclone, Iron Rattler, all of these are top-10 coasters on enthusiasts lists. There’s not a lot RMC can’t do.
Despite all of the bad press they’ve gotten due to the incidents on Steel Vengeance, Twisted Timbers, and Lightning Rod, there’s no stopping RMC. These speedbumps (Steel Vengeance train bump, Twisted Timbers trains, Lightning Rod launch), haven’t held RMC back at all. Park executives have been lining up to get RMC to their park.
We’ve mentioned the coasters coming for 2019, but RMC thinks well ahead towards the future. In 2020, they’ve got a coaster coming to Energylanida in Poland and Busch Gardens Tampa. It’s hard to say what the layout of these coasters will be. For Busch Gardens, they’ll be transforming the old Gwazi coaster. Energylandia is getting one entirely from scratch.
Whatever the 2020 coasters give us, RMC won’t go away. They’ve just introduced the Raptor and T-Rex single rail coasters. It appears we’ve yet to even scratch the surface of what those can do. There’s talk the T-Rex coaster can be built at 500 feet.
Nothing has been announced for new Raptor or T-Rex coasters ( There are two Raptor coasters in existence, Wonder Woman at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Railblazer at California’s Great America.)
Aside from introducing the single rail coaster, RMC is also famous for bringing the world a few other innovations. The wave turn and Zero-G Staal are some of their biggest successes. In the case of Storm Chaser and Twisted Timbers, they also feature a barrell-roll drop.
RMC loves to push the envelope. We’ve got a lot to look forward to with RMC. They are the world’s leading coaster manufacturer. Their creations are first-class attractions that are the centerpieces of any park. The future of this company is bright, indeed.
