Season 5 of Cobra Kai is officially in the Netflix books and while fans are waiting on confirmation for a 6th Season, we’re left to break down what transpired in the 5th. Johhny and Daniel are dealing with the consequences of going toe-to-toe with Terry Silver. Miguel is in search of his biological father, Tori is fighting her own demons, and John Kreese is trying to come off as the perfect inmate while in prison.

But things took a turn quickly as Silver put a plan in motion to destroy everything Johnny and Daniel has. The kids are still at odds with each other and a few familiar faces do make an appearance this season. If there is a Season 6, there are a few questions I need answered as we head into what could possibly be the final season of Cobra Kai

Are We Done With Chozen?

Chozen was a great fixture for Season 5. The relationship between him and Daniel fit better than Daniel and Johnny’s. But will Chozen leave America and head back to Okinawa? I hope not. Since multiple storylines in a season have been a thing on Cobra Kai, I really hope he stays and Daniel finds a way to bring Kumiko over for Chozen. Regardless of who the next villain is, Daniel and Johnny will need Chozen. That’s three styles of fighting the students can learn from.

Plus, Chozen needs his revenge story as he took one heck of a beating at the hands of Silver. As some characters have come and gone through the first 5 seasons, keeping Chozen as a regular would be beneficial for everyone. Daniel needs those references to Mr. Miyagi and he also needs that person who has his back.

Where Is Miguel’s Father

Season 4 ended with the cliffhanger that Miguel would head to Mexico to find his father. Season 5 began with him in search of his father but when he did locate a man we figured was his dad, it all went left pretty quick. His mom warned him about how dangerous his biological dad could be. At first, it was all smiles but then in 2 seconds flat, Hector’s entire demeanor changed. But that wasn’t the real issue.

Hector has no idea that Miguel is his son. Did he ever find out and if so, when? If he does know then will he find his way to America to get him and seek revenge on Carmen for taking Miguel away from him? For Season 4 to end on that storyline and then pick back up on Season 5 only to have that entire storyline vanish in 2 episodes and never be spoken of again for the rest of the season was a bit strange.

Who Is The Next Big Villian

Throughout the first 5 seasons, Cobra Kai has been built on the shoulders of its villains. It began with Johhny Lawrence, then moved to John Kreese and all that was in Season 1. In season 2, it was more of the same with Kreese then on to Terry Silver in Season 4. With Silver supposedly off to jail and Kreese out doing whatever, who will be the next big villain?

For fans of the original Karate Kid, that’s it. Someone new will have to come and take over. While Kreese will surely make his presence felt, what does he have left to give? He escaped prison which means he will be monitored, so how much damage can he really do to Johnny and Daniel? Mike would have been the perfect villain but he and Daniel made amends. Furthermore, are there any more students left for another Dojo in the Valley?
