Cobra Kai: Season 3 Should Be The Redemption Of Ali

Cobra Kai

Season 3 of the hit Netflix show Cobra Kai is set to air in 2021 but the details have been held close to the vest. After the events of the Season 2 finale, fans are speculating that Karate Kid alum and troublemaker Ali Mills could be heading back to join Daniel and Johnny. If this is indeed true, then Netflix must give her the opportunity to set the record straight.

Last we seen of Ali, she had dumped Daniel for another guy. From there, Daniel went to Japan and met another woman, and the scent of Ali was gone from the franchise. But looking back, Ali was already a bit of a tornado.

She was dating bad-boy Johnny Lawrence but then broke things off and got with Daniel. Ali is the real cause of the friction between Johnny and Daniel. But does she really deserve it?

From what the fans know, that would be a yes. But is there more to the story that we never got?

As quickly as Johnny became the hated villain in the original franchise, he’s now more beloved than Daniel in the reboot. But what if Ali has a similar story? What if her decision to leave both men was caused by something we the fans never had a chance to see or understand?

Season 3 is the moment where she should get her redemption. The same way Johnny got a chance to explain why he was billed as the villain when he was just a kid led astray by an evil Sensei. Ali deserves to be able to tell her side of the story and let fans decide how they want to treat her moving forward.

Cobra Kai has been great in its first two seasons. And the third should take the show to new levels. However, if Elisabeth Shue is to revive Ali, then she needs to bare her soul. She needs that, Johnny and Daniel need that. But most importantly, the fans need that.
