Comedy Legends: Greatest Comedic Actors Of All Time – Pt 2 Adam Sandler

Adam Sandler in Billy Maddison

Whether you love him, hate him, or love to hate him Adam Sandler is one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood on an annual basis. He’s done everything from Saturday Night Live, to his leading roles in cult classics, and even transitioning more recently to streaming success. He’s had ups and downs throughout his entire career and some movies might be better than others, but his success is rarely matched.

You would think his brand of humor isn’t for everyone, but since making it in the movie industry Adam Sandler’s movies have gone to collectively make billions of dollars. Most are at a lower budget allowing a low rate of failure in terms of profitability. While some say his movies are in the decline, so is the genre in which he works. There’s not a big box office draw for low-budget buddy movies or goofy rom-coms these days which means, like Sandler, those types of movies have transitioned to streaming services.

More Entertainment: Shoresy – Even More Characters We’d Like To See More Of

But the naysayers can’t be trusted. With movies like Hotel Transylvania earning multiple sequels, Uncut Gems being a hidden gem of its own, and Hustle Adam Sandler is still putting out movies worth talking about. There are plenty of people who will hang about talking nonsense about his acting ability to discredit his work, but again it’s not for everyone. As an actor, he takes a lot of chances with his work. Most of his characters are reminiscent of skits he was in on Saturday Night Live. While some might have been good for a few quick chuckles in short skits, they don’t always transition in a feature-length film.

But luckily for the audience, his appeal doesn’t try to over-reach. His success can be attributed to staying true to himself. He’s had an amazing career with voice-acting projects like 8 Crazy Nights and Hotel Transylvania. There have been those heartwarming fan favorites like Big Daddy and Click. We’ve seen the loveable goofball in Billy Maddison or Happy Gilmore. He’s even had solid romantic comedies like 50 First Dates with Drew Barrymore or Just Go With It with Jennifer Anniston. He’s even shared the screen with Hollywood heavy hitters like Al Pacino and Jack Nicholson.

While people can say Adam Sandler isn’t for everybody, he’s had a career that has proved otherwise. Despite not being everyone’s cup of tea, he’s made movies with some of the biggest names and across different genres. He’s had success on the big screen, the small screen, and now streaming. He has three decades worth of work to his credit and continues to make bank. Not bad for not being everyone’s cup of tea. That’s why Adam Sandler is one of the top comedic actors of all time.
