Coronavirus: People need to stop treating this like a joke
We are only a few months into 2020. However, in that short amount of time, 2020 is already a historical year. We are seeing one of the largest pandemics to hit the United States. The only other one that was on the level that the coronavirus is at occurred in 1918 with the Spanish flu.
The United States has seen 810,276 confirmed cases with 44,234 who end up dying from it. While the numbers have been going down lately, we are far from being out of the woods on this matter. However, there are several hundreds of people who have been protesting in front of government buildings. They are demanding that there states reopen. I’ve heard some of them still feel that this is a joke.
Some of these people are even going as far as blocking nurses from getting to the hospitals. It seems that these people are mainly your die-hard Trump supporters. This happened because he wants to reopen the country because he feels it’s hurting his election.
I’m sorry to say but he is the reason why we are in the stage we are in. He should of been more vocal on this and not wait as long as he did. No, I am not saying he could of prevented this because it was inevitable. However, he seriously could of prevented the amount of people who have died. The states that are re opening are seeing a second spike in coronavirus cases.
More Life: Will Covid Bring Back Old Ways?
Now, it seems that the Trump supporters are now pushing for the US to reopen. They are going to be the reason why this will continue. I will not say this isn’t getting annoying, but I want to be safe than sorry. I work at a supermarket now and it’s getting annoying with wearing masks and being six feet apart. But I would rather have that then be dealing with the coronavirus. We just have to wait this out.
I have learned throughout history, there have been people who believe are hoaxes. I’m sorry to break it to you but to the 44,234 who have died, this isn’t a hoax.
