DC Universe Will Be A Major Selling Point For Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

Will other Six Flags parks follow the Discovery Kindom game plan and develop a DC Universe? That’s going to be a resounding no. This is a great idea for the park to capitalize on the success of superheroes and villains.

Most Six Flags don’t feature all of their DC rides together. It just so happens Discovery Kingdom does. Business wise it makes a great deal of sense. While not the most profitable at the cinemas, the DC characters themselves are big business.

The new Six Flags Discovery Kingdom DC Universe will feature, Flash: Vertical Velocity, Penguin Ride, Joker, Harley Quinn Crazy Coaster, Superman Ultimate Flight, Wonder Woman Lasso Of Truth, and Batman (when it opens in May). The highlight of the area is without question, Joker. The RMC isn’t as well regarded as other RMC creations, but still can be regarded as one of the best coasters in California.

The new rides of DC Universe, Batman, and Flash: Vertical Velocity, are going to be great additions to the park.

Flash isn’t a new coaster for Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Originally, it was called V2: Vertical Velocity. The Flash name was added, and the ride repainted, to fit in with the DC theme. This will not only add some extra rides to the area, but the Flash name will also increase the popularity of the coaster.

Batman is a 4D Free Spin coaster. Six Flags has done these for other parks in the past. Most are themed to the Joker, but given that name is already in use, Batman will be the newest ride at Discovery Kingdom. These 4D Free Spins are excellent coasters. While it might not be as exciting as a new concept, most guests going to Discovery Kingdom have never experienced a coaster like this.

While Six Flags Discovery Kingdom isn’t hurting for attendance, just adding a DC Universe will increase business. As mentioned before, just by renaming V2 to Flash will draw more to the ride. Top this off with all of the other DC themed rides, and this will continuously be the busiest area of SFDK.

If you’re a DC fan, it’s a no-brainer to visit DC Universe. Knowing Six Flags, there might be meet and greats with characters, and there’s a ton of DC themed merchandise. To say you’ve been to a park with the most DC character rides is a big selling point to fans of the comic books and films. While the park still needs a Justice League Battle for Metropolis attraction, the DC Universe is setting up to be a big money maker for Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.
