Death: Do We Believe In Reincarnation?

Reincarnation

How often do you sit and think about death? It has to be on everyone’s mind at some point. We’re born and we’ll die. But how is always the question? How much time do we have on this earth? No one knows but we’re certain it will happen. But then comes the crazy question. Do we believe in reincarnation?

Reincarnation is defined as a particular soul believed to have been reborn.

Now, this is where it gets a bit tricky. While some religions believe in reincarnation, others do not. Is there really a Heaven or Hell? If the soul is reborn, then there is no Heaven or Hell, right? I’m not here to make a case for that. What I’m here to do is offer some clues as to why people may believe in reincarnation.

Let’s go back to the old saying that when a person dies, another is born. If you believe in reincarnation, then this statement makes sense, right? The moment you die, believers tend to believe that your soul enters that new body that was just born. One life lost, a new one is created. Makes sense in a way, right?

Here is one that always got me. The moment Deju Vu hits, you think to yourself– this happened before but the memories only appear in short clips. The same way we can see a person and are 100 percent sure we’ve met them before. It’s just something familiar about that person but you know you’ve never come across them before. So, why are they so familiar?

There are times I look at lottery winners and ask was it pure luck or something else? For those who believe that we’re reincarnated, do we come back under the same name and body, or are we giving a new identity as mentioned above? When I die, is there a chance I can come back as the next NBA star, top rapper, the next Barack Obama, or is my life destined to be something worse than what it was before?

The truth is, we won’t know what happens to us even after we die. There could be a Heaven or Hell, we could be reincarnated, nothing could happen, or we’re just dead. Either way, I’m in no rush to find out. What about you?
