Don’t Be Scared To Try Batman The Ride At Six Flags Discovery Kingdom
There are some coasters that intimidate you when you first see them. For most, Batman the Ride at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is that coaster. The 4D Free Spin from S&S is one of the more intense rides you’ll find at any Six Flags park. With that being said, Batman the Ride is a fun, exhilarating, and crazy adventure.
The beauty of a 4D Free Spin, you never know what kind of ride experience you’ll get. It’s possible there’s only 1 or 2 spins on your ride. However, the coaster is capable of producing 6 or 7. Of the 4 times I’ve done Batman, I’ve only hit a max of 3 spins. Don’t be fooled though, these spins are intense.
Going up the lift hill is an experience in its own right. You swing back and forth, sometimes laying on your back. Depending on which seat you’re sitting in, there’s no telling how far up the lift hill you are. It’s impossible to see the track. That goes for a majority of the coaster as well. Seat position has a lot to do with your ride.
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom did a stand-up job on Batman. The themeing is sensational, beating out any other ride at the park. The queue building features a few different Batman nuggets. There’s a computer station, a pod which has a nice effect showing off the Batsuit, and numerous wall signs with some of Batman’s weapons.
Since the ride’s opening, there have been some technical issues. While it worked without a hitch on opening night, breakdowns have happened. It’s common with any new ride. That’s one issue the coaster has faced. Although, for the most part, things have moved rather smoothly.
Batman The Ride also comes with a new gift shop. Featured are numerous Batman items for sale, more so than the 2 other merchandise stores in the DC Universe section of Discovery Kingdom. You can also get your official Batman the Ride t-shirt. As expected, this gift shop is attached to the rides exit.
Batman The Ride isn’t the best attraction at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Still, it does add something new and exciting to the park. Most will find Batman to be a bit too intense. For those who don’t, this isn’t too different from the Joker or second Batman 4D Freespins at other Six Flags parks.
