In a little bit over a year from now, Americans will go to the voting booths to cast their ballots for the next president. On the republican side will be Donald Trump who is the incumbent. The other side is the interesting one. The top three ones who will probably be in it until the end are Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, and Bernie Sanders. While these were the top of the democratic side, there were many who were way below them. One of the ones who were in the second tier of the democratic side was former Texan Congressman, Beto O’Rourke.

I say was because on November 1st, he announced that he won’t be continuing his presidential bid for the White House in 2020. As reported by CBS News, he had remarks on not pursuing the bid for the White House. He said, “Though it is difficult to accept, it is clear to me now that this campaign does not have the means to move forward successfully.” He would go on by saying, “My service to the country will not be as a candidate or as the nominee.” In this article that was published on the Medium, he also talked about why he wanted to run in the first place.

” I decided to run for President because I believed that I could help bring a divided country together in common cause to confront the greatest challenges we’ve ever faced.” If you recall, Beto O’Rourke gained a lot of national attention after the shooting in El Paso, Texas. He felt regular citizens shouldn’t have any way to get a military style gun. It seemed that didn’t sit well with many people, while others liked him. His other problem was that you really didn’t know who he was if your not from Texas.

We haven’t even gotten to the 2019 election and the 2020 election is looking more and more interesting.
