Jamal: Good Enough
I remember when I first saw this episode. I’ve seen shows and movies that had gay characters but to hear the struggle through Jamal’s voice was different. Taking out his personal feelings, Good Enough hit close to home for any kid still searching for that lost love that he never got from his dad. What makes this song and scene so special was the emotion it had. Look at the expression on Cookie’s face as she watched her son sing through his problems. As she flashed back to Jamal’s childhood, she felt the pain in his words. So much so that she couldn’t even stay to hear the rest of the song.
