This is still my favorite of all the songs that have been performed on Empire. The duet was by accident as Delphine asked Jamal to come into the booth and sing while a Documentary was being done on Empire’s top artist at the time. The song is a voice to the millions of people who are dealing with everyday struggles. Jamal uses that smooth tone that makes him such a wonderful singer while Delphine hits the notes that brings your soul to tears. The audience watching gives you a feel that this is beyond a TV show and you forget that you’re at home watching a scripted segment.
