While the answers have varied, one of the shows often overlooked is How To Get Away With Murder. But why? HTGAWM provides viewers with everything. While the action is not filled with gunfights, hand-to-hand combat, and explosions, it’s the storyline and mystery that sets it apart from its peers and competition.
What makes the show so great is what the others lack. How To Get Away With Murder tells their story backwards. The first episode of each season premiere starts from the end then tells the story of how they got to the climax point in the arc. For some, it can be a bit confusing but for the mystery lovers, it’s a stroke of genius by the writers and creators.

The story centers around one professor, Annalise Keating, and five students, Connor Walsh, Michaela Pratt, Asher Millstone, Wes Gibbons, and Laurel Castillo. What it boils down to is murder and how to get away with it. While most shows can string out a single storyline for a season or two, HTGAWM has manged to do the impossible much like Pretty Little Liars, and keep fans guessing for seven years.
Not to give anything away plot-wise, but if mystery and deceit are what you seek in a good TV show, then hitting Netflix in the next few weeks to catch up will be well worth your time. One thing to remember if you begin your binge is this–don’t believe everything you see or hear from any of the characters. Just when you think you have the plot figured out–boom, you realize you were wrong.
