The Flash: Season 5 Outlook – Caitlin Snow – Cavemen Radio Show
Season 4 of The Flash has left Caitlin Snow in limbo. Once fearing she’d become Killer Frost from Earth 2, now she fears Frost is gone for good. After being stripped of her powers at the hands of Clifford Devoe/The Thinker Caitlin went from being a part-time hero to back on the sideline. How much more disappointment can poor Caitlin Snow take?
Hasn’t she been through enough? She lost Ronnie twice, fell for a murder in fake Jay Garrick, struggled with potentially becoming a villain herself, now she went from being a hero back to a team player. I get that all heroes go through a struggle, but poor Caitlin/Killer Frost just can’t catch a break. Even the Flash has found his hope through all the torment. Barry and Iris finally tied the knot, and now even have a (future) kid together in Nora West-Allen. While all of that comes with baggage and their weekly struggle against the resident baddy, there seems to be an element of happiness.
Season 5 needs to be one of redemption for Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost. Doesn’t she deserve a bit of happiness and normalcy in her life? While much of the season will focus on Nora and what her role has on the future, a good chunk of the season might revolve around Caitlin as well. More than likely we’ll see her struggle with a lesser role with the team and struggle even more to find herself and who she wants to be. Now that she’s more accepting of Killer Frost, how well will she balance her alter ego in everyday life? After teasing that Frost is still inside her and always has been, it’s only a matter of time before the two are reunited.
The return of Killer Frost needs to be an epic moment, not a passing memory. For a character who has struggled so much throughout the series, there needs to be the awe-inspiring moment that shows the good in people is worth preserving. For all intents and purposes, with everything she’s been through Caitlin should be a villain, but she’s not. She sticks by Barry and the Flash in all their ups and downs. That’s what heroes do, they triumph over the bad. Isn’t it time we see Caitlin Snow overcome her demons in life? Keeping her in the dark, dismal, tormented story sends the wrong message to fans. Season 5 of the Flash could be the breakout moment for Caitlin and Killer Frost? Will we get to see this epic moment, or be just another letdown?[CMRickTwitter]
